Canvas of Color

Let's paint a picture with colorless stain,
on the canvas of life and love.
Our tears will create a work of art
as it falls like rains from above.

Let's imagine our world as a colorless sphere;
without contrast or hue to shade,
leaving only colors of our skin,
the complexion that is God made.

There is no beauty if you can see right through me,
for you will not know I'm there.
Your blackness is beautiful, my whiteness is true,
so judging by color is unfair.

Black and white, and all shades between,
cannot compliment each other more.
The stripes of the zebra, the tux of a penguin,
and even the panda's adorned.

So let's paint a picture with colorless stain,
to wash away hate and pride.
Let these tears flow in harmonious unity,
so like brothers, we walk side by side.

Choices

You did not choose the family born into,
but you chose the ones you love.
You did not chose the dad who would leave you,
but who matters most is the one above.

You did not chose the color of your skin,
but the color had chosen you.
You did not chose poverty over riches,
but in time, it is up to you.

You did not choose your light blonde hair,
but Anglo did choose you.
You did not choose your Ebony culture,
but this culture, too is you.

You do not choose your time in prison,
but choose to do the crime.
You do not choose your county judge,
but crime deserves the time.

Your future depends on choices made,
and no one can hold you back.
If you want to reach prosperity,
work hard and stay on track.

Choose to live a descent life;
be charitable, honest and true.
Love people of each and every color,
most importantly, you must love you.

Hello people, friend and foe.
I've something I wish you all to know.
This country's tearing at its weathered seams,
and all its people lost their will to dream.

With so much hatred, and blame to spare,
it seems that no one really cares.
We scream injustice whether wrong or right;
when no one listens to our somber plight.

United States? We are no more.
We are just a nation of rich and poor.
We pledged allegiance to the flag we loved,
and once worshiped great God above.

Hello people, where's your pride?
When in fear, stand strong don't hide!
Live life with strength and dignity!
Love God, all people, yourself and me.

We rally when injustice reaps.
We burn our flag, then it's stomped by feet?
This flag of red, pure white and blue,
is diverse in color like me and you!

If you want to live here, assimilate!
Respect our laws, spread love, not hate!
Leave your flag on its mother land,
and carry ours with loving hands!

Where black lives matter, blue does too!
Let's stop the violence and reveal this truth!
We must teach our children to regard police!
Without law enforcement, we have no peace!

Whether black or white or boys in blue,
nothing matters more than you.
Let's stand together, locked arm and arm,
to protect this nation from any harm!

Jealousy

Jealousy is a subtle reflective emotion of how we see ourselves. If you cannot trust yourself, nor will you have the capacity to trust your mate.

I Witnessed the Light

My heart beat silenced and mine eyes closed to blindness; my reality flashed quickly before my eyes. Images of past experiences, good and bad, read like chapters from a book. Soon after, the darkness brought pain though my naval, and it spread like wildfire throughout my temple. I began praying to our Father, begging for His grace; hoping He would hear my cry. Suddenly, an overwhelming coldness entered through my naval and swiftly smothered those flames. Along with the peaceful, healing breeze, came a light. It shone as a pin prick and became larger and larger until it smothered me in all its glory. I stopped praying and it spoke to me without words, but with emotions. It said, “You are forgiven! Now go home and tell your story. Lead others to the truth that I am real. Just plant a seed and I will make them complete, my son.”
